Customs Clearance: Contemporary Challenges

The Union Customs Code (UCC) defines the legal framework for customs rules and procedures in the EU, adapted to modern trade models and communication tools. Its aim is to offer greater legal certainty and uniformity to businesses and increase clarity for customs officials throughout the EU. Joanna Porath will describe what the implementation of UCC looks like in different EU countries and will discuss the differences between customs clearance at the port and on the rail.
