The recent advances in generative AI have raised anxiety among workers. Is ChatGPT going to replace me? Will I be able to participate in the future AI-infused economy? Which tasks involved with container shipping are going to be taken over by AI? How will jobs change? The talk will cover the likely impacts of future technology in business in general and supply chains in particular. The talk is based on Professor Sheffi’s recent book “The Magic Conveyor Belt: Supply Chains, A.I., and the Future of Work” (April 2023).
