Latham’s ISO 9001 Certification for Commitment to Quality
What is ISO 9001 Certification?
ISO 9001 is an internationally recognized standard for quality management systems (QMS). It sets a framework that helps organizations ensure that their products and services consistently meet customer expectations and regulatory requirements.
Achieving ISO 9001 certification is a rigorous process, involving a comprehensive evaluation of a company’s existing standards including;
- An organization’s quality management processes
- Customer satisfaction measures
- Continuous improvement initiatives

The journey towards ISO 9001 certification is often a transformative process for companies. It involved a meticulous examination of internal processes, a commitment to understanding customer needs, and a dedication to continuous improvement.
Key Steps in the Certification Process
Gap Analysis
The process is initiated by conducting a thorough gap analysis to identify areas where current practices aligned with or deviated from ISO 9001 standards. This step is crucial in understanding the scope of the improvements needed.
Process Improvement
Changes are implemented to enhance existing processes, ensuring they align with ISO 9001 requirements. This involves streamlining workflows, improving communication channels, and implementing robust quality control measures.
Employee Training
Recognizing the importance of its workforce, training programs are invested in to ensure all employees are well-versed in the principles and requirements of ISO 9001. This empowers the team to actively contribute to the quality management system.
Documentation and Record Keeping
A significant aspect of ISO 9001 certification involves meticulous documentation of processes, policies, and procedures. An established system for documentation and record-keeping promotes transparency and accountability.
Internal Audits
Regular internal audits are conducted to identify and address any potential non-conformities, ensuring that the company’s QMS remains both effective and compliant with ISO 9001 standards.

Traceability
Latham’s is regularly complimented on audits on our thorough traceability, thanks to the disciplined use of Orderwise which allows us to trace products from source, through goods in, through our manufacturing and warehouse processes, right through to delivery. In the image above, we show stock in our warehouse which is actively recorded in the software management system; pallets are recorded in locations in the racking. We can track these products right back to the source, including their origin, shipping container number and the PO that corresponds.
When we customise one of our stock doors, the system generates processes which are scanned as they progress through the modifications department. Then when completed and QC’d, a unique barcode is generated so the new customised version can be traced in despatch through to delivery.
Conclusion
Receiving ISO 9001 certification reflects a steadfast commitment to quality management, continuous improvement, and customer satisfaction. As Latham’s continues its commitment to quality and customer expectations, we also continue to thrive in an increasingly competitive and quality-conscious business landscape. A recognition of not only our past efforts but a statement for our future success.
